Updates
Sassy gets up with me every morning between 6am and 8am and we immediately go out to potty. We then take about a 20 min walk and she'll play with my resident dog before I'm off to work. She is crated all day while I'm at work and does great! No whining all day. When I get home at 4 we go out again for a walk and more play time with my resident dog. Bedtime is around 10pm and she'll sleep all night in her crate.
Sassy has not met a person she doesn't love, even the vet! She will greet every person with a sit and a wag of her little tail waiting for pets and of course treats.
Sassy has been gentle with all children she's been exposed to from 1 year up to 11 years of age. The sitter did note she got a little mouthy (play biting) with some of her children when very excited.
Sassy seems to be a medium energy dog. She's great with a couple walks a day and some play time with my dog. Sassy does wonderful on leash, we have lots of squirrels here and I haven't experienced any lunging.
Sassy loves other dogs. She's met dogs on walks and does great, no aggression, and is very good at appropriate introductions. She loves to play and her and my resident dog do need to be broken up at times otherwise they just wouldn't stop!
Sassy has done very well with my 14 year old kitty. At first she barked at her and tried to chase, but with one swipe of a paw from my cat she very much respects her space. By our 2nd week together they lay next to each other and even drink water out of the bowl at the same time.
Sassy is crated when we leave as I have found her chewing on non toy items. The first week she did whine a bit but then settled, now I have her in her crate all day while at work and I haven't heard a peep out of her. A blanket over the crate and the lights off in the room seemed to help as well.
Sassy is a sweet, smart, well mannered treat loving, snuggly little girl and it has been a pleasure getting to spend time with her. Shes eager to learn new things as long as a treats involved! She will go to her kennel when asked, she knows sit, down and wait as well. She will make a great addition to a wide array of different homes and lifestyles!
Sassy had a litter of puppies in May who have all found their families through Fetch, then tested positive for and was treated for heartworm! Sassy has been on activity restrictions due to treatment, but as of November 1st can return to normal activities and may find she has extra energy to expend than she's shown thus far in foster care.
