Updates
Rose starts her day with a big stretch and ready to do her morning business. Then it's time for breakfast and either some play time or settling in for me to go to work for the day. When I work from home she typically plays with my resident dog a little then lays behind my office chair for the rest of the day. When I’m gone, she hangs out free roaming with no issues. Evenings are full of playing before bed where she sleeps on a dog bed at the foot of my bed.
Rose is a sensitive girl and is shy of new people, specifically hand shy when someone reaches towards her. When inside the house she warms up much more quickly and easily compared to outside of the house. Taking your time and treats are the way to Rose’s heart. She has not had exposure to children while in my care.
Rose is pretty easy going. She likes to play and be vocal with her toys or chew on a bone. Playing around the yard or house takes care of most of her energy. She’s happy to just sleep next to me for most of the day and be my shadow as I do things around the house. For leash manners, Rose is generally okay with some corrections at the beginning. However she does pull when excited or when she sees a squirrel so it’s something we are working on.
When Rose met my resident dogs, she and my boxer mix took a little time to get comfortable with each other and figure out the dominance factor. Nothing ever escalated and they play so nicely now that they know each other. She also respects my corgi’s space since she doesn’t like other dogs in her face.
Rose does great with my cats. She gives them space most of the time and tries to play with one of my cats. She’s only chased them a time or two when she was already in the middle of some zoomies.
Rose does very well when left alone. She just hangs out and sleeps on the ottoman for most of the day while intermittently barking at a passing by delivery truck.
Rose is so dang sweet. She seems to have had a little bit of a rough past, but she is so attentive and just wants to make you happy. Rose is very food motivated and so smart! She is vocal and quite a talker when she is playing, so an apartment might not be best for her to live in. Due to some of her sensitivities with yelling, a calmer household would likely be best for her as well. Rose can’t wait to find her perfect home and eat all the treats you’ll give her!
