UPDATE

  • Curious about the outdoors, but snow has made him VERY hesitant to be outside.  He is potty trained using a pee pad, and we are gradually working on pottying outside.  He will poop outside, but does not like to pee outside.

  • Transitioning to a crate next week, but he is comfortable having my kitchen (very small space.. I rent a one bedroom apartment) with a baby gate holding him in.  He potties on the pee pads and will rotate between his dog bed and a blanket throughout the night.  He will whine for the first five minutes, but settles very quickly.  He may whine if he hears you get up to go to the bathroom, but again, it only lasts until you return back to your room.

  • He is a great eater, but can be impatient when waiting for you to set up his food.  We are practicing sitting and waiting to be told when he can approach the food bowls.  Right now he is on a puppy kibble, with probiotic, and soaked in some water to soften).  He is a messy eater, too.  He will eat up all the kibble he drops though.  Favorite treat brand is Zuke's.

  • He does well in cars - usually sleeps, unless he has to potty then he gets whiney/tries to escape.  He has peed in my car, so if he can't hold it, he won't.

  • Tolerates a collar/leash - wants to be the one in charge of leading though.

  • He loves rope toys, tug-of-war toys, and tennis balls (right now we need mini ones because we cannot carry regular size ones in our mouth).  He is the right amount of playful and calm.  He LOVES a good snuggle (especially if he can be as close as possible to you) and he LOVES to play.

  • He loves all humans.  If you are tall/large, he can be a little skittish, but after a couple seconds he forgets what a personal bubble is.  Currently, he is my shadow.  Anywhere I go, he is directly under me... he has been stepped on because of this, but it has not slowed him down.

  • He loves all dogs, but not all dogs love him.  He is still very much a puppy, and older dogs do not always have the patience.

  • He has not met any cats - this weekend I am taking him to my family's farm and he will get the opportunity to meet some cats.  I would bet he is fine with them, but they will not like him.

Adopting a newborn puppy from Fetch

At Fetch, we’re proud of the loving, healthy puppies born and raised in our care. We have raised more than 250 newborn puppies and counting, in addition to countless litters transferred to us when they were just days old. Each puppy receives round-the-clock attention, expert care, and a whole lot of love from the very start. Our team of volunteers work tirelessly to make sure they get everything they need, from socialization and basic training to regular veterinary visits. By the time our puppies are ready to go to their forever homes, they are well-prepared to join families and bring joy to their adopters’ lives.

Adopting a puppy from Fetch means you don’t have to go to a breeder to find a healthy, happy companion. Our puppies are raised to be adaptable, comfortable around people and other animals, and ready to embrace new experiences. We take time to observe each puppy’s unique personality, so when it’s time for them to join a new family, we make sure it’s the right fit. This individualized approach helps our puppies thrive in their new homes and brings joy to everyone involved. We have a select few foster homes that specialize in raising litters, and have each raised dozens of litters for our rescue. Having an experienced eye care for these puppies as they grow up is critical to their long-term success.

When you choose to adopt a puppy through Fetch, you’re not only welcoming a wonderful puppy into your family, but you’re also helping to save more lives. Each adoption frees up space and resources for other dogs who need our care, allowing us to help more animals find loving homes. Adopting a puppy from Fetch Wisconsin Rescue gives you a lifelong companion and supports our mission to save lives—one pup at a time.
