Pupdate 3

Qdoba is growing fast, he will be a big boy.  He is 23 pounds at 4 months.  He rarely cries in his crate, he settles in his crate for an hour or so after every meal.  Q keeps the kennel dry overnight and when I am gone for a 4 hour period of time.  He loves to run and play in the backyard with the other dogs.  Potty training will improve with his siblings moving on, they are quite distracting when he goes out.  His brother is doing much better with that after he moved to his forever home.  He rides beautifully in the car.  Slept all the way to the vet and home.  He has a clean bill of health and all puppy vaccines are up to date for 4 months of age.  He walks well on a leash.  He can follow commands: sit, kennel up, and settle.  He is learning: leave it, wait, come and playing fetch.  He enjoys chew toys but still needs redirections to appropriate chewing once in awhile.  We enjoy watching him grow and change.  He looks like a lab but he is smart like a shepherd. The best of two breeds.  He loves affections and likes to cuddle at night on the couch watching TV.  He still listens to lullaby music at bedtime.  He is a great companion for an active person or someone who just wants a dog to play with in the yard and take a few walks every day.

Pupdate 2

Qdoba is reducing his crate crying while I am in the house. Once I leave he is quiet.  He will improve faster once he is not with his siblings.  We use Cheerios as a little incentive to continue his waiting.  He bounces to his crate to wait for his meal.  Potty training is coming along. Crate is dry in the morning and after 3 hour times alone.  He likes walks and has improved his leash manners.  He loves his toys and quickly redirects to a toy when needed. He is not a big barker when out and about which is nice!  At bedtime he lays right down and goes to sleep with his ½ hour of lullaby music.  He is an evening snuggler after his last activity/play time.  He has the best love eyes!

PUPDATE 1

Qdoba wakes up at about 6 am and ready to get out as soon as he hears you. He can be vocal but that is improving. He was better without his litter mates but now the vocal conversation is a competition since they moved in. He goes potty outside and then comes in to eat. He loves to eat! Qdoba goes back outside after eating. He plays with his litter mates or my resident dogs well and loves to interact. He does respect my older dog’s desire not to play all the time. He finds chew toys or ropes to play with. He naps and plays the day away. He likes a walk sometime during the day. He loves ice cubes and plays with them while eating them. He is a treat motivated pup.

He loves people and children. Qdoba approaches everyone, tail wagging and loves the attention.

Qdoba plays with my 5-year-old grandson. He has some typical puppy mouthing and jumping but not enough that it discourages play with him. He loves a belly rub!

Qdoba loves to play and he loves to sleep. Qdoba will play with people or other dogs. As puppies do, he will crash and nap following activity. He loves a mile walk daily. As he gets older, he would probably like longer walks a couple times a day.

He enjoys dogs and love to interact with them. He can play rough with his siblings but that doesn’t carry over to my resident dogs. Qdoba has not met cats.

He cries in his crate when you are first leaving. I prepare everything to be ready to go out before I crate him. If you prolong the exit, he can get loud. I have a camera on them and they all settle down once I have left. Qdoba is still working on crate training so he’s best to live in a place without shared walls.  He does follow me from room to room with the other pups. He likes to be close but not right on his person.

Qdoba has a super sweet personality and loves to be loved. He responds well to praise and positive reinforcement. Potty training is coming along but I think the other puppies inhibit that because they get distracted with each other outside. Qdoba usually chews on his own toys and is intrigued with a shoe, but we get them right away. He is learning quickly and will make a great member of a family. He would love a dog that likes to play and would make a great second play buddy. He loves to snuggle with other dogs to sleep.
