Adopted on April 8!

Picasso goes outside first thing, eats breakfast and goes outside again. He likes to run around the house playing with my resident dog until I go to work. Picasso is crated for a couple hours in the morning with a chew toy and some chill music. My son lets him outside every 1-2 hours in the daytime for potty breaks and he is crated in between his breaks. When I get home from work, I let him outside or we go for a walk. I let Picasso run around and play with my resident dog all evening. Picasso passes out at about 8-9 PM and sleeps through the night in his crate in my bedroom.

He is a little shy at first with some submissive and/or excited urination. He wears belly bands indoors to prevent accidents when he’s excited. He is very friendly with everyone he meets. Picasso loves to be a snuggly lap dog when he gets tired. He will jump up on stranger’s laps in my home.

Picasso did well with 6 young children in his Louisiana foster home. He does well with my teenage son now. He was reported as having some “biting” type behaviors with a six year old child but we have not seen that in his foster home. I haven’t seen any mouthiness with Picasso toward humans, only dogs. He is very friendly with kids and seems to be drawn to kids.

He is high energy and Picasso is always on the go except passes out from 9 pm to 6 am. He loves to run around on the yard, tries to dig up and sniff out the groundhog in my yard. Loves walks. Loves to wrestle with other dogs. He needs an outlet for his energy which happens to be hunting groundhogs, wrestling with my dog, and chewing bones at my house. He will chew bones for extended periods of time. Picasso loves to chew the heavy chewer dogs toys.

Picasso loves dogs, loves to play, improved behavior with boundaries with other dogs since January. He now respects that my older, bigger dog doesn’t want to play with him. He plays nonstop with my resident dog of similar size. Picasso barks at dogs on walks.

Picasso chases cats and then isn’t sure what to do when he gets to them. He will chase intensely and even climb the cat tree to get to the cats. He just barks when he reaches the cats.

He is crated when alone. Picasso tends to cry/whine in the crate when alone for about 5-20 minutes.

Picasso is a really sweet pup! Love him <3
