Little Peppermint Patty found her family March 15, 2021!

Peppermint Patty starts her day by waking up at 7:30am, she immediately walks over to use the potty pads. Then she eats part of her breakfast and leaves some to graze on throughout the morning. She plays with squeaky toys while her foster mom gets ready then settles in for her morning nap in a sunny spot. Throughout the day, she alternates between sleeping and playing with her toys. After the workday ends, Peppermint Patty like to cuddle while we watch Netflix. She turns in for bedtime around 10pm and sleeps quietly in her crate throughout the whole night.

Due to COVID, Peppermint Patty hasn't met many new people with us, but she warmed up to her foster mom very quickly. She seems very sweet and trusting of people. No exposure to children.

Generally, she spends a lot of time napping. She has small spurts of energy where she runs around and chases her chew toys and tennis ball. She loves to play tug of war and fetch. Thats generally how we've been exercising. She is apprehensive of the outdoors due to the cold. With the cold snap/negative temps, Peppermint Patty didn't want to potty outside. She has been using use potty pads as she couldn't handle the cold temps. She has done pretty well with the potty pads and we will start working on an outside potty routine with her now that it is warming up.

With two layers on, she is willing to go on short walks outside. She will quiver and whine the whole time, but she will keep moving with some verbal encouragement. After some time, she will get too cold and refuse to keep moving. Peppermint Patty rides well in cars. She will lay down on her bed in the car and wait calmly.

The few times that we have been outside, Peppermint Patty has wanted to say hi to other dogs. She is quite submissive and sometimes seems a little fearful of how much bigger other dogs are.  No exposure to cats.

Peppermint Patty is crated when left alone. She is still a puppy and she will need to be supervised. She has done really well in her crate and settles in quickly for a nap. She's been sleeping completely overnight without a break.

The Wisconsin vet prescribed a round of antibiotics to treat kennel cough. She also has wipes and cream for a dry, rash on the inside of her right leg.

Peppermint Patty is such a sweet cuddly puppy. She's so loving and attached to her people, she can't wait to find a loving home!
