Meet Niko! She's a 4 year old Black Lab/German Shepherd mix.
Niko is a goofy and loving pup. Her favorite things are running around our yard and snuggling on the couch. She is friendly with adults and older kids but sometimes gets too excited and will jump on them. Niko is crate trained and is used to being in her crate about 4 hours per day but could last 8 hours if needed. She is fully potty trained and will go either on a walk or off leash in the yard. Niko's exercise routine is running in the yard a few times per day. She doesn't do very well walking on a leash if she sees other dogs or people, but is a good running buddy and is less leash reactive if out on a run. Even on days she doesn’t get a lot of exercise, she is happy to settle down for the night. After 3 years, we are looking to rehome her due to her starting to resource guard and pick fights with our older dog around food and favorite toys. Due to this reason, Niko would be best as the only dog in the home. If not around her food bowl, she has been friendly/good mannered with other dogs and she does well at the dog park and kennel if we are out of town. Niko has shown anxiety around our toddler so she also would do best with a home that doesn't have regular contact with younger kids. Niko knows commands such as: sit, stay, come, off, and leave it.
She would love a home in a quiet neighborhood with a fenced in yard for regular exercise. She would also prefer to be allowed on the couch for snuggles at night :)
