Updates

Nancy is a DELIGHTFUL 10 week old puppy. She is excellent with other dogs, people and children. She has been exposed to a cat that she showed an appropriate level of respect for.

She is working on all things puppy! She is tolerating a collar well and stays with you on a leash but since she is not fully vaccinated we do not venture to public places just the backyard and to the vet. She sits for treats and to get your attention and is learning quickly not to jump up on people.

She sleeps in the crate next to our bed and needs only a quiet “settle down” on the first few nights but is making great progress (it’s her first few days away from mom).

Chasing toys and sometimes brings them back is a great activity. She’s a great daytime snoozer after her activity time. She has used a puzzle feeder and figured it out quickly (See video).

She is going potty when we go outside but has no signal yet. Active sniffing or waking up from a nap means head for the door! She often has her accidents by the door so she does get the idea.

Nancy has been with several children under 12 and a 6 month old and is very gentle with children. Her teething days are ahead of her so be aware that she will need help with that. She does chew on things available so that is a work in progress. She knows no-no and accepts a replacement chewing item. We do have a pretty dog proof home!

Nancy has only lived in a home with other dogs. In foster care, she has not been a big barker, and I think she would do well in either an apartment or a home setting, but there would need to be someone home often for potty training. If she were an only dog and home alone for hours at a time, she may get bored and vocalize.

I have fostered over 25 puppies and she is one of the sweetest we have had the pleasure of fostering. Don’t miss out on this one!!

Due to Nancy’s age, she has not yet been spayed. She will be adopted out with an addendum to the adoption agreement to be altered at an appropriate age.
