Are you looking for a mini shadow? Well, say hi to this little cutie patootie! Mona arrived from Austin, TX last week and is settling in nicely. Mona is gaining weight and enjoying being in a loving and supportive home for the first time in her life. She has taken to snow like a champ and loves the idea of licking the snow for a quick ice-cold treat on the tongue.
Best news ever...she is fully potty trained already. Her humans are taking her to training classes and she's mastered 'sit.' We're working with Mona on 'off' because she's a bit of a counter surfer as that's where all the good stuff is. Mona is not a fan of being crated for long periods of time. Currently she sleeps on her dog bed or on the human bed. More good news? Mona sleeps through the night.
Mona's basic schedule:
6 am wake up, big stretch, outside and eat
7 - noon outside, eat, play, nap, snuggle w/ dogs, repeat
6 - 10 pm eat, outside, catching up on streaming shows (her favorite is Dog House UK), nap, repeat
10 - 11 pm big stretch, outside, sleep
Because she's just puppy, Mona has moments of unbridled activity especially when she sees her humans after they've been away, but settles down pretty quickly. This is one serious snuggle bug! She's small enough to be a lap dog and is just as happy laying with canines or humans. Her favorite activity is to follow the humans around the house. I have a feeling her inner dialogue goes something like this, "Where are you going? What are you doing? What's going on? Is food involved!"
Based on how fast Mona runs around the fenced-in yard, I sense she would be a good running buddy. For a little girl, she can sprint like she has legs twice and long. Mona does well with our two resident dogs and often rests her head on one of them. She doesn't have experience with cats. Until she's out of her puppy phase, she may do best with older kids.
Mona randomly waits by our cars because she loves a car ride. If you're looking for a road trip companion, Mona is your gal. Just don't expect her to take the wheel, she's more comfortable watching the scenery go by and bobbing her head to the tunes.
Are you ready for a lifetime filled with loving looks, endless snuggles, playing ball and pure silliness? Great! Mona is looking for the same thing! She can't wait to meet you!
Mona is Foster to Adopt until her Spay appointment on 3/19
