✅ Found abandoned on the side of a Texas road on a stormy day, left in a wire kennel with toys & food by an owner who could no longer care for her.
✅ Enjoys being outdoors and loves playing with toys.
✅ Despite everything, she is so sweet and playful. Loves toys and does well with other dogs.

Meet Mercedes! Found in a storm, now spreading sunshine everywhere she goes! This playful pup is house-trained, crate-trained, and ready to shower her future family with love.
Mercedes' favorite things include:
Hiking and exploring the great outdoors and city neighborhoods
Playtime with balls and toys (she loves fetch and tug!)
Snuggling up for cozy nap sessions. Her fur is so velvety soft and she’s convinced she’s a lap dog!
This energetic girl has made great progress in her training since arriving in Wisconsin. Her loose leash walking has improved dramatically, and while she might pull occasionally she’s not barreling toward every person, dog, or squirrel she sees anymore. She's also improving in her impulse control with mat training, “down,” wait,” and “leave it.” She rests calmly in her crate and only fusses occasionally if she’s crated at an odd time that’s not her usual schedule/ routine.
Mercedes is the definition of a social butterfly. However, her initial excitement at meeting new people and dogs causes her to jump and lunge. She's been making great strides and is less overstimulated in different situations. Slow intros really help to set her up for success.
Mercedes would thrive in an active home where she can get lots of exercise and playtime. No senior dogs or small children due to her rambunctiousness. A commitment to continuing her training is also important. With the right routine and support, she'll blossom even more.
