Meet Marvin!! He's a 5-month-old chocolate lab mix that arrived from Louisiana a couple of weeks ago and is ready to find his very own home! He has very labby- water-resistant, thick fur, a white chest and toes and a thick tail that's constantly in motion!

Marvin typically wakes up at 5-5;30 and is out to potty right away. Back inside for breakfast in his crate then back outside again for potty training. Typically he will stay outside with his resident big sister playing for 30-40 min in the morning before he settles back into the crate. Currently, as someone is home during the day, we've been following a strict potty training schedule with lot's of chances for success, and he's making gains in this area. During the day, we take breaks from the crate to practice leash walking, and he has made improvement on leash and redirection from squirrels/cars and other distractions. He does enjoy snoozing on the couch or soft blankets over the crate, so we do focus on giving him a little of both during the day. At night he settles well in his crate located in the our bedroom, with his foster sister snoozing close by.

Marvin has been around children, and played ball and soccer with them. Again, he is a puppy and will nip, chew and jump with play, and would encourage kiddos to learn about curbing unwanted behavior. Marvin has seen our resident cat on a few occasions, and appears curious. She doesn't offer the opportunity to engage, however he is such a happy, highly food motivated easy going pup I would expect he can be trained to treat feline companions with respect.

He is playful, inquisitive and goofy and needs close supervision from the typical puppy mischief. He is easily redirected from being mouthy or chewing on non-toy items/hands. Marvin loves to learn and is getting the hang of using the bell to signal he wants to go outside. Most of the time he rings the bell to play outside with his resident big sister or play ball. He will retrieve and will drop the ball/toy for a treat. Inside, he loves to lounge on soft surfaces and will make a bed out of blankets and plop on the floor.

Marvin is a sweet, lovable pup who will bring a happy go lucky, easy going energy to your home. He is appropriate for a new dog owner ready to step into a new adventure and will excel with further training classes.
