Marty is a very loveable dog and an excellent companion for anyone looking to bring a new pet into their home. His favorite things are lying in the sun on a fluffy blanket, snuggling on your lap, or playing fetch with his mini tennis balls. He is a low-energy dog most of the time but he does enjoy playing one-on-one with a squeaky toy or getting the zoomies with someone in the yard once a day. He does need a fenced yard because he likes to adventure around the neighborhood if he can escape.
He likes to bark at noises that sound like doorbells, knocking, or people delivering things to your house. He will bark when someone new is welcomed into your home but he calms down within 5 to 10 minutes of being introduced and will lay on their lap if they like. Marty is a very friendly dog and is nice to strangers, cats, small dogs, and children but he likes to keep his distance. He should be in a home with no other pets or young children because he has a marking issue when he feels nervous. He is potty trained but isn't very good at indicating when he needs to go. As in he doesn't wait by the door like a typical dog, he will just stand at your feet and look at you, which can be easy to miss. Marty is crate trained but he does have some anxiety when you are first leaving the house.
His favorite treats are chicken, pig ears, and frozen blueberries. He also enjoys wine and coffee, I mean who could blame him, but be sure to keep those out of his reach. He loves chasing small animals around the yard and will catch any mice hiding around your home! Marty has been my best buddy for the last few years, he is the sweetest and best snuggler around. I am sure he will make a wonderful addition to any home he is placed in.
