Updates

Mack is such a classic Golden Retriever! He’s been having the absolute time of his life with all the fresh snow this past week. He especially likes to make snow angels.

Mack is such a sweet and goofy golden boy looking for a patient owner. He starts his day going for a long walk (30 mins or so) and then plays with toys or romps around the yard for a bit while I get ready for work. He stays crated for the day while I'm out of the house at work and does really well in there. Then when I get home from work, he has a good amount of play time either playing fetch or wrestling with his foster brothers. By the end of the evening Mack is ready for snuggles on the couch or in a dog bed. Then he sleeps the night in the crate as well.

Mack does not do well with strangers especially when he's nervous. He can get along okay with strangers in the home if given a lot of guidance and if you make sure to tell your guests to just ignore him and not reach for him. He certainly needs someone who is willing to put in the time to help socialize Mack and advocate for him when he's uncomfortable. That being said, if given the time Mack is one of the sweetest and silliest boys. He is so loving and flops all over out of excitement when I come home from work. When given the time to get to know you, he will make the perfect companion for someone.

Mack has a medium energy level which is definitely higher when other dogs to play with are around. He thrives when he has several toys and hard chews to play with, but he will get most excited to play fetch with some tennis balls! Without my personal dogs that he loves to play with, Mack settles down for a chill evening pretty easily if he's had some play time in. He'll also go on any length of walk you prefer.

Like I've said, Mack does extremely well with other dogs! He gets along with my rambunctious puppy and my grumpy older dog. He's even fairly good at greeting new dogs. He just doesn't like to share his food with anyone, but is good at sharing everything else. He also lives with my two cats. In general he does okay with the cats but does sometimes get too excited about them and tries to play when they don't want him too.

Mack does very well when left alone in his crate. Normally he doesn't make any noise in there and when he does it's just a couple soft cries. He has ripped a couple holes in his crate blanket but doesn't rip anything to shreds.

This sweet gentle boy is looking for his perfect match! If you have the time and patience to give this goofy kid a loving home, apply today!
