Updates

Kelsie sleeps in her kennel all night without a peep. She gets up when we get up in the morning and sleeps in on the weekend when we sleep in. When she comes out of her kennel she goes outside and then we go for about a 30 minute walk. Kelsie then has her breakfast and has some playtime in the house with our yellow lab or she goes in the fenced backyard and plays. She is kenneled while I work from home and is quiet in her kennel. She comes out at lunch time to go outside and play for a little while before going in the kennel for the afternoon. In the evening she has more playtime and snuggle time before going into her kennel at about 9:30 for the night.

Kelsie loves everyone she meets. We are working on her not jumping when she greets people and she does well overall keeping 4 paws on the ground when people come over. While on a walk she gets excited when she sees people and will sometimes pull to go say hi.

Kelsie is working on her leash manners. She has learned a lot while with us and is getting better everyday on our walks. She gets excited when she sees people, dogs and squirrels. She is a pretty medium-high energy dog. She loves to play and loves to go on walks but also gets tired out and sleeps or chews on a bone.

Kelsie has not been exposed to cats or kids in our home but her foster in TX said she was good with both.

Kelsie loves other dogs and loves to chase and wrestle with them.

Kelsie is usually kenneled when she is alone. She has had short periods of time alone and does well. She will eat food if it is left on the counter. She has not destroyed anything or chewed on any non-toys.

Kelsie was positive for Anaplasmosis, a tick-borne disease, in August but is not showing any clinical signs. A positive result for Anaplasmosis just indicates antibodies to this bacteria, not necessarily active infection. Per our rescue protocol, she is currently being given a round of antibiotics.

Kelsie is a very sweet dog who will be a great addition to any family. She loves to chew on bones, loves to play fetch with a ball or stick and loves attention from her humans.
