QUICK FACTS: ✔️ Good with other dogs! ✔️ Good with cats! ✔️ Crate trained! ✔️ Good in the car! ✔️ Walks well on leash! ✔️ Could live in an apartment ✔️ Okay for beginner dog owner

Hermann was found as a stray in Texas and was brought to the shelter covered in mats and thorns. He had to be completely shaved and had multiple thorns dug out of his skin. He still has a few little scabs left, but he is looking SO much better! When he arrived in Wisconsin, he was very scared and would cower and scream when I picked him up. Now he has been in foster care with me for three weeks and has adjusted so well. He absolutely loves playing with the other dogs, running around in the yard, playing fetch, chewing on his toys, and snuggling with people. Sometimes a loud noise or a sudden movement will startle him and he will cower, but overall he has become a very outgoing, friendly little guy.

Hermann sleeps in his crate and he is perfectly behaved in there, never cries or barks. He needs to pee pretty often and so I try to let him out every couple hours when I am home, and I crate him when I am gone during the day. He holds his pee all night for around 10 hours, but if he is crated during the day for longer than about 6 hours, he will have a pee accident in his crate. He is doing great with potty training, but he's not 100% yet so he wears a belly band when loose indoors just in case of accidents. He has never had a poop accident indoors.

Hermann walks great on a leash and gets along with everyone he meets. He will randomly get spooked by things and try to back out of his collar, so I walk him with a martingale collar so he can't slip out.

Hermann's hair is still very short, but when he grows out he will be curly and will need regular haircuts. He does not shed. He is going to be so cute once his hair grows out a bit!
