Hello, I'm Helga! Glad to meet you! I'm five years old, on the small side, and I love adventures. I've been on my own for a while, but I'm ready to settle down with my forever family. I love people, car rides, snuggles and walks, but I also have a strong drive to sniff and chase squirrels. My foster and I are working on channeling this energy into my long-term strengths, such as good listening, trusting my human, and being a good member of the pack.
My foster parent is taking me on two walks a day, and this works really well for my energy level. We are in an apartment and the walks help balance my energy levels. When we get back home, I get to eat and play and practice my skills. Right now, I am working with my foster parent on learning more commands, practicing good walking skills, and getting into routines. I love the fluffy animal toys that make me feel like I'm out chasing squirrels - I get zoomies when I get a new toy. I rarely bark, usually only when it's appropriate to notify my foster parent of something important. I am a good jumper, so baby gates won't necessarily hold me back; I will leave closed doors alone, though. I can do a crate or nap on the couch. I am just the right size for your passenger seat! I think I would be a great agility, scent, or parkour dog, given that I love exploring, jumping and climbing when it's allowed. I can learn many new tricks with a little guidance and promise of a small treat. At the end of each day, there's nothing better than snuggles. I come from down south, so I like getting under the covers to snuggle.
