Updates

Harriet is a whole lotta joy packed into a tiny, little, wiggly body! She is so excited to greet her people each day and would gladly spend the day tethered to your side if allowed. She wakes up between 6-7 am and we head outside for a quick potty before breakfast. She devours her breakfast and is ready for a little playtime. We often leash up the 3 dogs in the house and head out for a walk around the neighborhood. Harriet likes to show off her agility and parkour moves as she launches on and off the curbs along the way. After the morning activities, Harriet settles in to her enclosure for a bit. She does still protest initially, but she is learning to settle into her space with toys and a comfy bed while we get work done around the house. The rest of the day is a rotation of eating (breakfast, lunch and dinner), playtime/walks, and resting. After dinner between 5-6pm, we have one more longer exercise...either a walk or playtime in backyard. By 7-8 things are quieting down with lots of essential pre-bedtime napping. By 10-10:30, Harriet heads out for final potty break and into her kennel for the night. Harriet sleeps through the night quietly in her kennel listening to some calming puppy music.

Harriet is without a doubt a people puppy...she loves to greet anyone, everyone she has met. Her initial response is to jump and lick them to show her pure joy, but we have been working on manners. She is learning quickly.

We have 3 children living at home and she does well with all of them. She has also met several children in the neighborhood.

Harriet has plenty of puppy energy and she will need several exercise sessions throughout the day. She loves to walk & to play with her toys. She seems to be a natural already at "fetch" when we've played in the backyard. She has so much ability for leaping, walking on her back feet and such that I suspect she would be very fun to train for agility. She responds very quickly to treat-based motivation and has already learned some basic commands.

Harriet has been fine with our large resident dog. Sometimes her puppy exuberance and jumping will earn her a correction, but she has listened well to him. She was not initially as excited about the other puppy in our home, but as she has grown her confidence in our home and with slow introduction they have accepted each other. She also has done well meeting other dogs in the neighborhood.

Harriet is interested in the 3 cats in our home. She is on a leash or a tether when she is out and about in the house so she does follow them a bit, but cannot chase them. She seems more curious than anything.

Harriet is not a fan of being left alone initially. She will bark and cry when you first walk away or put her in enclosure or kennel. However, she will settle within a few minutes. We keep her where she can see and hear us and feel part of the family even when she can't run free in house. She has made great gains in this area in a short period of time. She freely goes into her kennel for naps and she sleeps quietly in there through the night.

Harriet is going to make a fun and sweet addition to your home! She is a fast learner that really wants to please her people. As she develops her confidence and has consistent training, she will become a fun, energetic companion.
