✅ A wonderful young dog who is quiet, very laid back, no jumping. Amazing, right? We don't know his story, only that he was brought to a local vet’s office to be euthanized. The vet could see “a good dog” in those eyes and said no way.
✅ He does very well with other dogs, not irritating to the older dogs but can hold his own with another older puppy.
✅ He crates very well, has had no accidents in the house and is usually very quiet in his crate unless he really, really needs to go potty in the morning.
✅ We met a cat at the vet’s office and he was quietly curious, but not aggressive, okay with the kids he's met, asking to be petted. He likes men.
✅ He is not overly playful, and does not know what to do with toys, but learns quickly. He has learned to fetch quickly. He does enjoy a rubber ball with a treat or peanut butter stuffed inside.
✅ He is a great dog and will only improve in a loving home with lots of petting and opportunities to learn what fun being a puppy can be.
Gunner is a young pup with an old soul. He’s calm and easygoing—no jumping on people, just a sweet guy figuring out how good life can be. He was brought to a vet’s office to be euthanized, but the vet saw something special in him—and they were right. Gunner is a very good boy who just needed a chance.
Gunner sleeps soundly at night in his crate in the bedroom and has had zero accidents in the house. He’ll sprint into his crate for meals or a treat-filled Kong though he might bark if he thinks he’s missing out. He’s also learning to fetch (and loving it), enjoys walks and hikes, and is great on a leash.
Gunner gets along well with other dogs—he’s respectful of older pups but can keep up with a playful one too. He’s met kids and asked sweetly for pets. He’s even met a cat and was calm and curious, not reactive.
While initially a bit shy in new situations, Gunner is learning how to open up and trust. He just needs a patient adopter willing to build his confidence and show him how much fun being a puppy can be. Once he trusts you, he’s a total sweetheart—seeking snuggles and being goofy.
