Meet Gunner! Gunner is a handsome and fluffy one year old lab mix who is looking for his fur-ever home. He is friendly and eager to meet new people and dogs. With one other resident dog in his foster home, he has been learning how to respect other dogs' boundaries and has become a great playmate. While he loves to romp around with other canines, he is also quite content entertaining himself with a squeaky or rope tug toy. Gunner is one smart pup and is also great at enrichment puzzles and learning new tricks!
While he would prefer a yard to play fetch in, Gunner could do well in an apartment if given plenty of exercise and enrichment. If you are looking for a running buddy, Gunner is the guy for you! He is still young and loves to play but, once he is worn out, is generally pretty calm and quiet. He does great on the leash and not chasing critters he sees out and about. Gunner has met one cat and tried to chase it so he probably should not be in a home with feline friends. He has met several young kids at events and has done great with them but has not had any consistently around in his current foster home.
Gunner does not have any accidents in the house when kept on a consistent potty schedule. And, he does pretty well in his crate for up to 5 hours at a time or when someone is home. He will whine a little bit when first left alone but is generally able to calm himself down and make himself comfortable within 5-10 minutes.
Overall, Gunner is a friendly and playful pup who would do great in an active household. While he still has some puppy energy, he also enjoys a good snuggle on the couch and generally has a pretty calm demeanor. He is just waiting on a couch to call his own!
