PUPDATE 2
As Frankie spends more time with us he definitely has come out of his shell. He is a very confident little man. He continues to do great with our almost 5 and 1 year old, tolerating being walked, picked up, and chased. He has been to the park by our house and loves all the attention from the kiddos and adults. He still likes to bark at any dog that walks by, but he is very food motivated and easily distracted, with consistent exposure and training I can see him learning quickly.
He still loves his night time snuggles and we have given in to his requests and he sleeps either snuggled with our resident dog or underneath one of our blankets.
PUPDATE 1
A typical day for Frankie is waking up between 6-7am; first thing is a potty break with our resident dog and then breakfast time, followed by another potty break and kennel time for Frankie until we are home later in the morning. Frankie gets a couple short walks during the day, enjoys his peanut butter kong and an occasional game of fetch with a tennis ball, but otherwise likes to snuggle on a comfy blanket on the floor or couch. Evenings get hectic when our kiddos return from daycare and everyone is home, but Frankie seems to do well with the noise. He gets dinner and then more potty breaks before bedtime.
Frankie does bark when new people come into the house, but it is a “hey, give me attention!” bark and as soon as he gets the love he so desires, he is your best friend.
Frankie loves people, especially kids! He is always ready for attention. He loves pets and snuggles anytime!

He barks at other dogs on walks but does great with our resident dog who is a good 90lbs heavier then Frankie! Our resident dog is very low key and low energy; I could see Frankie feeding off the energy of other dogs too.
We crate Frankie when we are out of the house. He does go in his crate with minimal hesitation, but does bark until we are out of site.
Frankie was positive for Anaplasmosis, a tick-borne disease, in April but is not showing any clinical signs. A positive result for Anaplasmosis just indicates antibodies to this bacteria, not necessarily active infection. Per our rescue protocol, he is currently being given a round of antibiotics.
Overall, Frankie is a typical, happy-go-lucky puppy.
