Meet Earl! This handsome gentleman spent the first several months of his young life in a Texas shelter, but now is in Wisconsin and ready for a family of his own! Earl is crate trained, loves dogs, loves all humans, kiddos included, and an excellent road trip companion: he loves to nap quietly in his crate! He has not met a cat nose-to-nose yet, but he’s a curious but gentle boy and, with appropriate introductions, could learn to live with one.
Earl is hanging out in a multi-dog foster home and doing very well. He gets along with all dogs he’s met but is also content to hang out with his humans or just lounge in the grass or in front of the open patio door. He loves to chase dogs! He just hasn’t found one yet that he can keep up with, but that doesn’t stop him from trying! After a short play session, he sprawls all his limbs out and flops down for a rest! He seems to be on the lower-medium side of the energy spectrum.
If Earl hears sounds in other rooms his ears perk up, but he hasn’t gotten more curious than this; I’d have no concerns with him living somewhere with shared walls. He’s woofed a few times - but only when you approach his crate to release him from it. We’re working on this and only let him out when he’s stopped barking, so he’s making quick progress here. Speaking of crates - he loves his! He spends anytime home alone crated as well as overnight. He does well with housetraining as long as you keep him on a consistent schedule but if you miss his cue at this time, he will have an accident indoors - always near the door though, so he should catch on quickly to only going outside.
If Earl’s gorgeous coloring and floppy jowls don’t win you over, his sweet and goofy personality is sure to!
