When Dallas rounds the corner, there’s no graceful pitter-patter of little feet; instead, you’ll hear the joyful thump of his duck-like paddles. These unique acoustics can probably be attributed to the increased surface area of his very cute, webbed feet, courtesy of the water-loving lab in him. Given their size, Dallas will also likely grow into a big boy.
Dallas will try his hardest to position himself and his uncoordinated limbs on top of any willing human. He can’t get enough attention, love, and cuddles. This also extends to meeting anyone new. There are no strangers in Dallas’ world, only friends he hasn’t met yet.
Potty training is complete! Ongoing success in this area is helped by a consistent routine and a timely reaction to Dallas’ signals.
Dallas has also learned that humans are not sentient chew toys. Some teenage mouthiness is still there (for now), but is limited to situations in which he’s overstimulated. For that reason, living with young children may not be ideal. Dallas does respond well to corrections, and his highly food-motivated nature makes him an eager learner.
He is a champ in his crate and sleeps through the night like a pro. His favorite activity is wrestling and romping around with his big canine brother. He also loves to go on car rides, especially if they involve a pup cup and/or meeting new friends through the drive-thru window.
Dallas was recently diagnosed with hip dysplasia and will have surgery soon to better align his hip joint. This will allow for more joint stability and help prevent future issues.
If you’re ready for a goofy, loving, slightly chaotic sidekick who’s growing into an amazing dog, Dallas is your guy.
