QUICK FACTS: ✔️ Good with other dogs! ✔️ Good with cats!

Updates

Daisy is a 4-year-old black lab mix who has been in my home since 2020. She is a great companion, an excellent foot warmer and a loyal, expressive pooch. She has always been on the anxious/fearful side, and her behavior has become unpredictable around young children — including snapping. After consulting with several dog trainers, I came to the heartbreaking conclusion that a quieter home without young children would be a better fit for her.

Daisy would thrive in a home with an experienced dog owner who understands anxious dogs. She’s smart (she recognizes people’s names, places and the names of her favorite toys) and also has thoughts about how the world should work. She reacts to sounds, rapid movements and takes time to warm up to new people in her space.

She gets along well with other animals; she enjoys doggy daycare, and lives with a cat that she wishes would play with her. She is very interested in squirrels and rabbits in the backyard and on walks though, so urban chickens or indoor rabbits/rodents might be an issue.

She is great in the house. She still likes to nap in her crate sometimes, but she has been free to roam the house for years and hasn’t chewed anything since she was a puppy. Given the choice, she likes to sleep on couches, but she’s a quick learner and mostly follows the rules.

She likes walks, but can be reactive on leash and requires an attentive handler.

Daisy takes daily anxiety medication as well as medication for mild incontinence (completely resolved with the meds). She is up to date with her shots and medical care.
