Daisy May is a ~3 year old Bluetick coonhound. She was pulled from a remote kill shelter in Texas before being brought to Wisconsin. This girl is a gorgeous love bug who can be quite goofy at times. She loves to play, go for walks and then cuddle at night when you are ready to settle down.
Energy Level:
Daisy May is a medium energy level pup who loves to play with the dogs in her home. She enjoys going on a daily 1.25 mile walk with her pack or individually. Bonus, because she is a hound scent games are also a great option to tire this beauty out!
Training:
Daisy May is fully adjusted to living in a house. We are now working on training standard commands that you learn in a basic dog training class.
Daisy May is a loose leash walker with a front hook harness but she can pull if there are a lot of good smells outside. During walks we use the terms wait, ok, and good sniffs - let’s go, and we started playing the 1-2-3 game to pull her attention back to her handler.
Crate Training:
Daisy May easily goes in a kennel without any fuss for a chicken strip. She will happily snuggle up on her plush blanket and take a nap during the day too.
Grooming:
Daisy May is a short haired dog and will require minimal grooming.
Dogs:
Daisy May loves every dog in her home. We have had Fetch Alumni to the house for sitting dates and she has gotten along with all of them.
Cats:
Daisy May lives with 2 cats that mostly live upstairs behind a cat/baby gate. When she saw the cats she bayed at them and wanted to chase them. She may be too intense to live with kitty friends. The one friendly cat that is a good judge of dog character does not trust her.
Kids:
Daisy May has only met a teenager so far while in Wisconsin and she does great with him. She does try to play with humans like they are a dog and can nibble on them a little too hard. Older kids who are dog savvy would be best for this girl. She’s just so playful and would potentially scare a young child..
Daisy May is a great dog for any hound lover.
