Conan found his family February 28, 2021!
Conan found himself in rescue after living in a home that was less than ideal. He was mistreated by the children there and not fed as regularly as he should have been. He hasn’t let his initial struggles in life get him down and is ready to find his forever home where he will be loved and cherished.
There is a lot of personality in this tiny body! Conan loves attention and giving kisses. He’s a happy little guy who likes to be in the company of the family. He plays independently with toys and running around the house and yard has been enough exercise for him. He prefers to nap curled up on a lap or close to someone. He lives with a boy in his current foster home. He’s been great with him and didn’t show any signs of fear or apprehension when first meeting him. Conan does still have some puppy biting behavior when he’s playing so we’re sure to have toys around to give him when he does that. He can also be very “squirrelly” when excited and could be easily dropped when picked up. Because of those reasons and his extra small size, I’d recommend older and/or very gentle children. Interaction with men is unknown.
There are three other smaller size dogs and a cat living in his foster home. Conan has gotten along very well with everyone. He tries to play a bit with the cat. He has started chasing the other dogs in the yard and house. He is the smallest dog and doesn’t feel comfortable wrestling too much yet. If it gets to be too much, he goes under the table and just plays with toys on his own. He will snuggle next to them during nap times. Conan hasn’t shown any problems with sharing toys or space. He can take treats with the other dogs without any sassiness.
Conan sleeps throughout the night in a crate next to my bed. He doesn’t make a peep. He’s also been very quiet there if he needs to be crated during the day for a few hours. He is doing pretty well with a potty training schedule but has had a few accidents. When Conan is let out, he runs out to do his business right away even in this cold weather. He will still need supervision and consistency in that area.
Conan is a good mix of fun and entertaining and snuggle buddy. He’s looking for a forever home with lots of love, warm blankets and toys.
