Chino is a very gentle and snuggly dog! We start the morning off with some snuggles in bed, and then we get up to eat and go outside. If you are getting ready before taking him out, he will go to the door to let you know if he needs to go out now. As we get ready, he loves to play with all of the toys in the basket - and I mean all! He will take all of the toys out one by one! He loves any toys, bones, and balls. Chino hasn't quite figured out how to play with our other dog, but he sometimes tries a bit. He will also lay in his crate sometimes as that seems to be his safe space. When we head to work, Chino goes in his crate voluntarily, and he does not bark or whine throughout the day. We usually put a toy and/or bone in his crate with him, but he tends to sleep most of the day. When returning from work, he is happy to see us, but he is so quiet! I have never heard him bark before, even when other dogs are barking in our apartment complex. We take both dogs for a walk before dinner. Chino is sometimes skittish around loud noises outside, but he walks well. He is somewhat curious when he sees other dogs and people on our walks, although he tends to just keep to himself. Evenings are usually a mix of playing with toys and being lazy on the couch! Chino loves to curl up in a cozy blanket with us. We sometimes have friends over, which he greets politely and then goes back to his bed or toys. At night, our other dog sleeps on the bed with us, so we allow Chino to do the same. I think he would be fine in his crate or a dog bed as well.
Chino loves to show his affection and is overall a super sweet dog. He has low to medium energy which allows him to easily entertain himself inside. He will occasionally take non-toy items, but he is easily redirected when told no. I think he would enjoy longer walks outside, but we are waiting for the weather to warm up a bit. He does well in the snow despite being from Alabama! They also believe he has been a stray for his entire life, which might explain why he prefers soft introductions to people. I know he would love to find a forever family to share his love and silly personality with!
