QUICK FACTS: ✔️Good with dogs! ✔️Good with cats! ✔️Crate trained! ✔️House trained! ✔️Leash trained! ✔️Good in the car! ✔️Can free roam when alone! ✔️Could live in an apartment! ✔️Good for beginner dog owner! 🐶Senior doggo!

Charley is a senior Shih Tzu mix who arrived to Wisconsin from Texas a couple weeks ago. He settled easily into my home and is a sweet, easy, low energy dog. He is completely house trained and will let himself out through the doggy door when he needs to go out. He free roams the house during the day and sleeps in a doggy bed at night. He has a crate that he will go into on his own, but we have not closed the door because he doesn’t get into anything.

Charley likes to be near his people and will follow them around the house and settle wherever they are. He likes to be pet but isn’t overly demanding. He will sit next to you quietly or curl up by your feet. He is low energy and sometimes will go for short walks, but mostly just ambles around the yard. He has trouble navigating stairs so he stays on the first level of the house.

Charley does fine around other dogs and cats and just ignores them. He is not interested in playing with them. He has not met kids, but he will snarl if he is grabbed suddenly especially from behind. We would not recommend small children because of this.

Charley has chronic dry eyes so he will need eye drops twice a day for the rest of his life. He came up from Texas with a fungal rash and was missing patches of hair, but the rash is almost completely gone now and his hair is growing back nicely. He does not shed and will need regular grooming.

Charley is such a sweetheart and he deserves a quiet home to live out his senior years!
