Say hello to Chance!!! This handsome guy was once a resident of Alabama and has traveled the long journey to Wisconsin to find his forever home. This approximately 3 year old retriever/lab mix is a great size at just 34 lbs. and is more on the medium to high energy side. He currently lives with 4 other smaller dogs and has done well after slow introductions.
Some facts about Chance:
• He is crate trained. He sleeps in his crate all night with only a few squeaks initially. His crate is covered and he is good until morning. He is also in his crate during the day for sometimes long periods (entire workdays) and has done great job at keeping his crate clean and dry during that time.
• He is potty trained. He has not had an intentional accident since being in my house. He is not net neutered and did have one marking incident. He has a neuter appointment soon and that will help with marking. Belly bands are on when he's in the house and does well with them.
• He is an awesome rider in the car. He seems to be a bit scared of vehicles and needs some help getting in the car, but once buckled in, he settles down nicely and rides without any issues.
• He walks ok on a leash. He appears to not have much experience on the leash but he loves to be outside exploring. He has improved each time we go out.
• He loves snuggles and getting pets.
• He loves pup appropriate chew toys.
• He really notices squirrels and rabbits on walks so small animals in the home may not be best for him right now.
• He has not lived with cats.
• He has not met children of any age.
• We are working on good manners with “sit” and “down”. He tends to jump to give hugs when seeing his humans and we are working to keep all 4 paws on the ground.
Chance is a smart, spunky, younger pup that would love to wow you with his charm. He is super smart and would benefit from a regular routine. Even though he is a bit unsure of new surroundings, he will be the most loyal, loving boy there is once he warms up to you. Why not give Chance a chance!
