Cassie was found as a stray in Louisiana and was pregnant when she was found. She gave birth to five puppies in foster care and was a wonderful mama. Now they are all weaned and Cassie has been spayed, so she is looking for a home of her own.
Cassie is an active little girl who loves to go for walks, play with her toys and play with my other dogs. She is very social! She likes people, but can be a little scared of strangers, especially tall men. She will bark at them initially and back away, but if they get down to her level she will come over for a sniff and a tail wag. She bonds quickly to her people and loves to be held and cuddled. She bonded very quickly to my boyfriend who is a tall man, so it doesn’t take long - just a day or two.
Cassie likes my cats but what she really loves is to chase them. She thinks that is SO fun. She will bark at them to try to get them to run. I have one cat who is not impressed with her antics and will just stare at her, and she is very disappointed and will give up quickly. My other cat will run, so she will chase her. She is not aggressive at all but she might stress out a more nervous cat.
Cassie is not overly barky, but she will bark when strangers come over and if she hears noises outside. She does very well with a spray bark collar and is completely silent when it’s on, so I would recommend that if you live in an apartment and need her to be perfectly quiet. She is an expert beggar and will stick right by your feet when you are cooking or eating, just in case you accidentally drop something for her. I have never given her human food, but that hasn’t stopped her from hoping!
Cassie is potty trained and sleeps in her crate. She is very good in her crate, but she sometimes will cry if she hears you are home and you haven’t let her out yet. She does the cutest little happy dance when you come home and let her out, and will jump all over you and give you kisses.
Cassie has medium length wiry hair and she does shed a little bit. Her breed mix is a compete guess!
