Hi — I’m Bonnie. I’m a silly, cuddly girl who takes a little time to warm up, but once I trust you I’m all sweetness and wagging tail.
I need a slow intro, but once I warm up I am all snuggles and laughs. I am in my "teenage" phase so I can sometimes grab the wrong item to play with or check out the counter, but I respond well to redirection and treats! I am ans smart as can be and am learning so fast in my foster house.
I play submissively with other dogs and get wild and silly. I thrown my ball to myself and go wild in the snow. I can be timid around adult men and might bark if I feel nervous, but it’s usually my way of saying “I’m unsure.” I warm up pretty fast when people are willing to give me time. I love being outside — walks and play are my favorite. I like to play with cats, but they don't always enjoy my puppy nature. I am so smart and can solve a doggie puzzle feeder in record time. I have had no accidents in my foster house. I keep my crate clean and sleep through the night. I need a little patience with getting in my crate, but I am getting there.
I can sit on cue and learn fast with positive reinforcement. I’m still working on house manners: I’ll occasionally jump up on people I trust for some love or the counter when I smell something tasty. I’ll do best with patient, consistent training to help me feel confident. I thrive on routine — a morning meal and walk to sniff and explore, some play time with my toys, short training sessions with treats, and another nice walk in the evening. Playtime with dogs is my favorite and I would do well in a house with a confident friend to show me the way. I do not mind strangers on walks or in public places and wag my tail, but prefer they not pet me.
If you’re looking for a smart, sweet, devoted, outdoor-loving companion who will give you loyal affection once she trusts you, I might be your Bonnie.
