If you’re looking for an adorable, playful pup, sweet Birdie is your gal!

Birdie is by far the friendliest dog we’ve fostered. She settled in almost immediately and has loved everyone she’s met. She currently lives with four kids, ages 9-14, and she does well with all of them.

Birdie is a typical young dog, and has been involved in some standard puppy mischief (chewing/getting into things she shouldn’t.) She is very food motivated and is a quick learner. She responds well to redirection and clearly set boundaries, and will need an owner who is able to provide these things. Birdie thrives off of structure and quickly learned how to sit and go inside on command. Birdie doesn’t love to be in her crate and will whine for about 10 minutes, but she settles down and sleeps through the night most nights. Birdie is potty trained and hasn’t had any accidents in the house. We are in the process of leash training her, and she is doing well so far with consistency and treats.

While Birdie does not currently live with other pets, she has gotten along well with other dogs she’s met. She also lived with other dogs in her Southern foster homes and she did well with all of them. We think she would do very well in a home with another dog.

Birdie is a medium to high energy lab mix. She needs at least two 15-40 minute walks a day in addition to play time. She loves to play with her toys and race around the yard. Birdie can also be very low-key and loves her snuggles and pets.

Birdie tested positive for whipworms and is being treated.
